Barbara Noah - Gallery

Barbara Noah is intrigued by the long shot, the notion that human aspirations and achievements that seem impossible could actually happen, in spite of their improbability. In her recent series, “Likely Stories,” she alludes to this with optimistic humor in pigment prints constructed from multiple images into alternative realities. In these pieces, airborne objects become stand-ins or surrogates for the figure in full throttle can-do mode. Whether free-floating or propelled by a toss, they have ascended to improbable, transcendent heights, wryly reflective of the humor and pathos of human experience.
