Countdown Series:
Monoprints made with vintage lettering stencils, using chlorophyll, iodine, iron rusted with salt water, powdered gemstones and dyes derived from plants and animals. An experiment to see if I could convey the precarious, vertiginous "countdown" of our environmental crisis using numerals and natural materials.

Power of Limits Series:
These monoprints are made with the Electropounce, a machine from the junk heap of technology, once used to transfer signpainters’ patterns. Drawings are made on paper on a copper table. The spark from an electric stylus arcs through the paper, burning holes; patterns are then used to “pounce” pigments through the holes, making unique stencil prints with powdered pigments.
The title of this series is taken from Power of Limits, a classic work by Gyorgy Kepes, delineating the relationship of geometry and the natural world. Kepes also designed the original exhibits in the Pacific Science Center in 1962.
