Bainbridge Island Museum of Art & Bainbridge Artist Network
11:30 pm Tour of BIMA
1 pm Events at BARN
On Saturday July 20 SPA members go to Bainbridge Island! There will be a talk and time to explore Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA), demonstrations and showing of work from Bainbridge printmakers and refreshments at the Bainbridge Artist Network (BARN) and a meet up at a local bar.
The talk at BIMA begins at 11:30 am, to accommodate people walking the short distance from ferry terminal off the 10:40 sailing from Seattle. The Chief Curator of BIMA will talk about the new exhibit, and other details and features of the museum.
The events at BARN start at 1pm, with informal tours of the facility, work by local printmakers on display, and food and beverages available. Demos will run from 2-4. 2 pm. At 2pm Lynda Swenson will demo cyanotypes, at 2:40 pm Pam Galvani will demo her techniques and at 3:10 Wendy Orville will demo her process.
Transportation to BARN from the ferry terminal can be found via BI Ride. BI Ride functions kind of like Uber/Lyft as they will come pick up anywhere on the island (for the return trip to ferry dock). For getting to BARN, BI Ride/Kitsap Transit have buses that depart from the ferry dock after each ferry arrival.
To come straight to BARN, there are 11:25 and 12:30 sailings from Seattle. Here is the link to the complete ferry schedule for that day.
SPA is dedicated to connecting printmakers and enthusiasts together across Seattle. This event is free and open to SPA members and BARN members and their guests.
