In partnership with Pratt Fine Arts Center, and to nurture the development of our shared artist community, Seattle Print Arts and Pratt are pleased to offer an enhanced funding grant in printmaking (formerly known as the Seattle Print Arts Scholarship). This grant is specifically for Puget Sound printmakers who are members of Seattle Print Arts.
GRANT AWARD: The Pratt/SPA Partners Grant, a $1000 award, is to be applied towards printmaking classes, workshops, and supply fees at Pratt Fine Arts Center. A $700 unrestricted stipend will be distributed directly to the recipient. In addition to the financial award, the recipient will also receive the following:
One-year SPA membership renewal
One-year Master Level membership at Pratt Fine Arts Center
Access to Pratt’s printmaking studio for the duration of the award year, which runs September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024* (Worth 12 x $180 =$2160)
ELIGIBILITY: The Pratt/SPA Partners Grant is open to printmakers of all levels, aged 18 years and older, who are members of SPA and who wish to refine their skills or pursue new or experimental directions in their discipline. Previous involvement or prerequisite classes at Pratt are not required. Board, advisory board, and staff members of Pratt Fine Arts Center and SPA, as well as Pratt instructors, are not eligible to apply.
APPLICATION EVALUATION: The Pratt/SPA Partners Grant will be awarded to the applicant who best demonstrates artistic merit, as well as articulates their creative intent and anticipated educational impact of the grant. Applications will be reviewed by a committee including SPA board members, past recipients of this grant and other artists with expertise in the field of printmaking.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Statement of intent (500 words or less) explaining:
a. How this grant will enhance your artistic development and goals
b. What you intend to explore or accomplish with this grant
c. Why you need grant funding to complete these goalsThree (3) to six (6) JPEG images of current artwork - JPEGS should be formatted to 7 inches on the longest side, with minimum resolution of 180dpi, and file size no larger than 2MB each. Label your JPEGS with you last name, title of piece, and numbered order for viewing.**

b. Dimensions
c. Medium
d. Year of completionCurrent resume, curriculum vitae, or biography
